Hare (Lepus europaeus) {foreground) or Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) {background}, sometimes I’m asked about differentiating them. Stature, behaviour, tail, facial expressions; there are various ways to tell them apart in the field – but a picture is always a helpful reference.

I’ve not often seen them sat together but was lucky enough to photograph these two in a Mid-Wales river meadow (someway off from the hide that I was in but still a serviceable result).
